The Hogar San Pedro is a small home of reception and convalescence, which is located at about forty kilometers from Lima in Peru. It was founded by Father Menard in 1979 in order to help the totally deprived patients of the close and distant regions. The patients benefit from adapted care and moral and spiritual support. A place as Father Eusebius Menard himself said, where his priests could touch the reality of human poverty, feel it, live it and accompany all these people with great love.
The Hogar San Pedro offers basic medical care and care for patients for short or long stays. It takes in people who are ill, abandoned and with limited financial resources to help them recover and facilitate their social reintegration

ATOMIC MUSHROOM OVER JAPAN IN 1945.

POPES AND THE NUCLEAR THREAT, APPEALS TO THE WORLD CONSCIENCE

The Nuclear Weapons Ban Treaty enters into force on January 22. In Hiroshima in 2019, Pope Francis defined the possession of these weapons as "immoral". These words are emblematic of the long magisterium of the Popes from the 20th century to the present day.

THE POPE'S YEAR 2020: THE POWER OF PRAYER IN TIMES OF PANDEMIC

The global health emergency related to the Covid-19 pandemic interrupted international apostolic journeys this year, but the Pope remained close to the faithful through the power of prayer.
Sunday, March 8, the dividing line between "before" and "after". It is the day of the first Angelus of Pope Francis recited, live audio and video from the Library of the Apostolic Palace. The containment imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic is then imminent in Italy. "This Angelus prayer today is a little strange, with the Pope "in a cage" in the Library, but I see you, I am close to you," said Francis at the beginning of the broadcast. Then, at the end, the unexpected: the Pope appears at the window of the Apostolic Palace to bless St. Peter's Square.
It is not yet known, but as the months go by, the square will become empty and silent; it will be filled with the prayer of the Successor of Peter and the hopes of the world. It was here, in fact, that alone, in the rain, on the evening of March 27, Lent Friday, Francis presided over this extraordinary moment of prayer in a time of pandemic, inviting humanity not to be afraid and to entrust itself to the Lord: "We have hope; in the Cross we have been healed and embraced so that nothing and no one can separate us from his redemptive love".

"Dr. CARLOS JARAMILLO DE LA TORRE"

INTRODUCTION

Dear brothers, of the Society of the Missionaries of the Holy Apostles. From the Delegation of Colombia, we give thanks to God for the life of each of you; for the pastoral work, you do in the Church for our Society. It has been 8 years since we were established as a Delegation. During these years, we work in the lifestyle of the Missionaries of the Holy Apostles, according to our constitutions and norms and the needs of the Society and the local Church. I would like to share, in the following lines, some relevant aspects of the current events in our Delegation in the following order: Presentation of the delegation, Objectives, Analysis of the situation, perspective for the future

This brief journey is an attempt to show at a general level the journey of these eight years as a Delegation and ways forward; without losing sight of the sense of belonging and our presence in Colombia and Venezuela in unity and fraternity, the two wings that strengthen us as M.S.A.

PROVINCE OF THE UNITED STATES

1. Presentation

The United States Province was founded at the beginning of the Family of the Holy Apostles with the Seminary of the Holy Apostles in 1957 in Cromwell, CT, and the Houses in Washington, DC a little later. When Father Menard left Canada, he resided for a few years in Washington with the members of the future Missionaries of the Holy Apostles (1962-1965), before moving to Peru where he founded the new Society on August 15, 1962. From 1965 onwards, it functioned as a region and later as a province.
